Self-levelling Fassa SM485 for thicknesses from 3 to 30 mm for internal floors sold in 25kg bags.
Self-levelling Fassa SM485 is a dry premix composed of special hydraulic binders with rapid setting and hydration and selected sands.
USE
SM 485 is used to level irregular cement-based surfaces or old ceramic floors inside, with thicknesses of use from 3 to 30 mm, when a short drying time is required to allow subsequent rapid laying of the floors. The laying of the floors is possible only after complete drying; the time needed depends on the thickness, the quantity of water in the mix and the thermo-hygrometric conditions (from a few days to a few weeks). We recommend measuring with a carbide hygrometer before proceeding with the installation of the covering.
PROCESSING
Pour and simultaneously mix a 25 kg bag of SM485 in approximately 4.5-5 liters of clean water and mix with a mechanical stirrer or slow speed machine until obtaining a homogeneous lump-free mixture. Larger quantities of SM 485 can be mixed in common mortar mixers. SM 485 can also be applied with a pump. Do not attempt to restore lost workability by adding additional water to the mix. Wait 2 minutes before applying and then shake the mixture. SM 485 is easily spread in a single coat in thicknesses from 3 to 30 mm with a metal spatula or doctor blade. Due to its high self-levelling qualities SM 485 leaves no imperfections. Since it is a quick product, the installation of wooden floors, ceramics, etc. it can be carried out a short time after application (from 1 to 3 days depending on the thickness and temperature): it is however necessary to lay the floors only after having ensured that they have actually dried with a carbide hygrometer.
